“It has been an honour working alongside Dr. Amit N. Thakker and Marloes Kibacha, developing key partnerships, witnessing the rise of the private health sector on the continent, and moving towards the goal of improving access to equitable healthcare in Africa. I am proud of the whole team at AHB, some who were there from the start and others who joined along the way, who have contributed to the growth and success of the company.”

On behalf of the Board of Directors and staff at Africa Health Business (AHB), we announce the transition of Nishit Shah as a Founder Director of the company. On June 25th, after six years at AHB, he will be stepping down from his management and Board duties with the company to take on a leadership role at his family business.
Nishit has been a wonderful asset to our organisation. He co-founded the company in 2015, launching our flagship product the Africa Health Business Symposium (AHBS), a pan-African conference that sits at the heart of the African healthcare scene. Today we have grown into a full-fledged consultancy and advisory firm serving clients in government, the development space and the private sector.
Over the past six years, Nishit led the growth of the AHBS, taking the event across the continent from Nairobi to Dakar, Johannesburg, Addis Ababa and finally onto a globally accessible virtual platform – bringing together key stakeholders in the healthcare development sector, including influential public and business leaders, experts, investors and entrepreneurs. Through the AHBS platform, the company has set the pace towards constructive working relationships between the public and private sector, creating a more enabling environment for the private health sector on the African continent. He also guided our financial and business development teams and has implemented sustainable operational systems.
