Dr. Hala Zaid is a healthcare leader with over 33 years of experience in healthcare management, reform, and medical education. As Regional Director at ACCESS Health International MENA, she drives strategic initiatives to improve healthcare systems and policies across the region. Previously, Dr. Zaid served as Egypt's Minister of Health and Population, spearheading the country's successful hepatitis C elimination program and launching universal health coverage. She also played a key role in advancing Egypt's vaccine production capabilities as Chairman of VACSERA and ACDIMA. In recognition of her achievements, Dr. Zaid received the Harvard Medical School Award for improving medical education in Egypt and was named one of the 100 Most Influential African Women. Dr. Zaid holds a Doctorate and Master's degree in Business Administration, a Diploma in Hospital Administration, and an M.B.B.Ch. degree.
