Magdy Bakr, Medical doctor started work in hospital management since 1988 then into national

health system since 2000. Served as Health program support and management expert among the

European Commission Team supporting Egypt health sector reform program till 2007. Joined WHO

since 2008 to 2017 as WHO Egypt office health system coordinator, then as WHO health system

consultant till December 2023. Also served as senior health system consultant with the French agency

for development and the World Bank in different assignments. Currently working as senior advisor to

the Chairman of Egypt Health Care Authority on technical affairs. During the last ten years, has been

pivotal in supporting Egypt’s health policy, planning, governance, institutional reform and Universal

Health Insurance planning and implementation. Has vast hands-on experience in healthcare delivery

particularly PHC, Family Practice model, clinical governance, information systems development and medical records management.
