Sexual Reproductive Health and Health Systems Strenghtening (SRH/HSS) Specialist - UNFPA Nigeria
Dr. Oluwatosin Kolade is a seasoned public health professional and thought leader with almost two decades of strategic and technical experience across health systems strengthening, health financing, and sexual and reproductive health (SRH). Oluwatosin has a medical background and advanced training in health financing, policy, and business administration, and has consistently led transformative initiatives that enhance access to quality healthcare, especially in underserved populations.
Currently, Dr. Kolade is serving as the Sexual Reproductive Health and Health Systems Strenghtening (SRH/HSS) Specialist for UNFPA Nigeria, where he provides strategic guidance on integrating SRHR within national UHC frameworks and supports policy development at both National and Subnational levels. He has previously led high-impact projects funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, GAVI, Global Fund, USAID, and the World Bank, including technically supporting the redesign of the Basic Health Care Provision Fund (BHCPF) 2.0 (a catalytic financing initiative of the federal government of igeria) and the development of subnational health financing policies and strategies.
He has successfully programme managed/directed large-scale reforms in health insurance, demand- and supply-side purchasing, and primary healthcare delivery. His ability to co-create sustainable health financing solutions and institutionalize strategic purchasing has made him a sought-after expert in Nigeria and across Africa.
