Hon. Aden Bare Duale, EGH, is a distinguished Kenyan statesman currently serving as the Cabinet Secretary for Health. A seasoned legislator and strategic political leader, he represented the people of Garissa Township in the National Assembly for fifteen years, gaining national prominence as the first Leader of the Majority Party under the 2010 Constitution. Throughout his tenure in Parliament (2007–2022), he became known for his deep mastery of legislative procedures and his role as a staunch defender of the government's agenda. His transition to the Executive began in 2022 when he was appointed Cabinet Secretary for Defence, a role he held until mid-2024 before briefly leading the Ministry of Environment and subsequently moving to the Health docket in March 2025.

Beyond his political career, Hon. Duale is a respected professional with a background in education and business. He holds a Bachelor of Education from Moi University and an MBA from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. As a prominent voice for the pastoralist communities and the Somali people in Kenya, his influence extends across the Horn of Africa. He is also a published author, having chronicled his political journey and the inner workings of the Kenyan state in his autobiography, For the Record. For his exemplary service to the nation, he was honored with the Elder of the Golden Heart (EGH), one of Kenya’s highest civilian awards.
