Introduction to Discussion

On the sidelines of the International Conference on Public Health in Africa (CPHIA) Pfizer and Africa Health Business (AHB) organized a side session on Action oriented respectful partnerships for public health in Africa: Partnerships for access to medicines. 

To establish a new public health order in Africa, collaborative and action-oriented partnerships are essential across the entire healthcare ecosystem, involving researchers, manufacturers, policymakers, and healthcare professionals from government, NGOs, development partners, and the private sector. The session aimed to unite stakeholders from multilateral organizations, philanthropies, private and public sectors, and civil society to foster impactful partnerships for access to medicines. Further, the session focused on addressing the urgent need for cross-sector and cross-border collaborations in tackling the multifaceted challenges that impact public health in Africa with a focus on access to medicines.
